The letter written by Ann to her husband James on 7th September 1899 is transcribed below:-
My Dear Husband,

It is with such pleasure that I take my pen to answer your most kind and welcome letter that I received a few days ago, and I was so pleased to hear from you and to hear that you felt a little better in health and in spirits and that you was enjoying your labours in the gospel so well and I do hope the lord will bless you with good health while you stay there.
I am anxiously waiting for the next letter for I think you will tell me what you are going to do, for I think your president has written to you before now and I think you will let me know as quick as you can.
Well my dear we are going to start at our beets next Monday and we will get them up as fast as we can and then you shall have money enough to clear your self from all debts, but I will send you some more money just as soon as I can. I hope you have got the money I sent you before this time, for I know you will need it, and I will soon send you a little more.
Well my dear you said in your letter you thought I never went out to have a good time, but I went to the canyon last Tuesday. There was me and Dela and Clara and Bill and the children, Henry and Nelly and Brigham, Mary and Joe and Hyrum, and Emma Clark all went in one wagon and four horses and we did have a good time, but I thought of you all the time, but never mind it will not be very long before you are home.
Sister Higgins has just got a letter from her sister Sarah and she doesn’t want to come for she thinks she is too old to stand the journey, but that will be all the better for you for I don’t think you will feel much like to bother with everybody but your own dear self for I am afraid you are quite weak and the journey will all you will want.
Well my dear I started this letter two days ago and did not feel well enough to finish it but I feel better now and I am going to town and I will post it there, so I will close for this time and I pray God to bless you, from your ever loving wife Ann Turner
Please write soon and a long letter xxxxxx so long dear
